[...] 10/30/09: Kawagoe festival floats Great photos of the Kawagoe festival held in Japan on October 17-18 this year. Elaborate floats carried through the city can weigh up to 7.5 tons! At the climax of the festival, floats compete against each other in a musical contest.
There were a few tanuki dancers there, although the photos were not so good. One had a rope attached to his tail to make it wiggle. I saw Pompoko, although it was a little too goofy for my tastes, really.

Thanks for reading!

Foxes are also my favorite but the tanukies are ichiban. As you know (I suppose) only the foxes, the tanukies, and some cats can transform into humans. By the way if you never saw "Heisei tanuki gassen pompoko" I strongly recomend it (there are tanukies and foxes). And also another good one - Tekkon Kinkreet / Black & White (cats and foxes - even though it is not so obvious).

Really nice blog I enjoy reading it.

Cheers from Kobe.
