former tokyo gaijin and “clockhead” here. i am so glad to have stumbled upon your review; somehow the mere EXISTENCE of this play slipped past me! is it still going? (year and a half later, i doubt it, huh?)

there was a musical version in boston a few years back, starring (at least for a while) the dresden dolls (?punk band). come to think of it, i think there have been TWO musical versions floating around here. i don’t think the reviews were good tho.

never caught either.

btw, have you ever seen “funeral parade of roses” (matsumoto toshio, 1969)? it is occasionally stated that kubrick’s movie was based more on that film than on burgess’s book. one of these days i’ll have to download it.

(not to mention “Vinyl”!! how can i call myself a clockhead?!)
